Managing Users

Administration > USERS

Users can be managed by workspace administrators.

To manage users, you should go to worksheet Administration > USERS

When managing users (adding, deleting, changing data), it is necessary to remember, what level does the user have.

User levels are:

 WORKSPACE
    SUBUNIT
      Project

On a corresponding level, the user can be an administrator, consultant or viewer.
User who has administrative rights on a project level, is called "owner".

Administrator Administrators can manage users and projects (add, update, delete) on their own level.
For example, workspace administrators can manage users and projects within the workspace (all subunits, all projects), whereas subunit administrators can manage objects only within their subunit.

Project level administrators are titled as project "owners".
Consultant Consultants can make changes in projects' content and save changes on their own level (workspace, subunit or project).
Workspace and subunit consultants can add and delete projects, and manage project members on their own level.
Viewer Viewers can see the users and projects on their own level.
Viewers cannot manage users or projects, or save changes.
Viewers cannot leave comments to business plans.

To manage users, you should first select the level, i.e. workspace, subunit or project, which users you would like to manage.

Business plan team management

To add users, you should enter the username, name, surname, e-mail address and rights (i.e. select their role) of a new users in an empty table row.

Recommended format for username is firstname.lastname.

You can add several users (rows) at once. After data has been entered, click "OK".

Each new user will receive an automatic e-mail with their username, machine-generated password and link to iPlanner.NET. Users can change their password after logging in.

When new user is added, the system checks whether this user has already been registered in iPlanner database. If entered username and e-mail address match existing user data, said user will receive additional membership. In such case, new password will not be generated. Automatic e-mail will be sent on additional membership. Accordingly, any iPlanner user can simultaneously be a member of several projects or workspaces, using the same username/password.

Username is user's ID. Username cannot be changed (but you can change the password). When a new user is entered and the system informs that the user name already exists, then you should select another username, or enter a "right" e-mail address (i.e. address, which he has in iPlanner system) of said existing user. In this case, the existing user will receive an additional membership.
If a person with administrator rights changes an e-mail address of a user who has not logged in before, said user receives an automatic e-mail with a new password. One of the reasons for such change can be that an incorrect e-mail address was entered before.

To delete user(s), select user(s). Click "Delete". Confirmation form will appear, click "OK".

"ShowUp" notation

The "ShowUp" notation indicates, whether end-users can turn to corresponding person for advice and help.
If the notation has been applied, end-users will see that person on the list displayed in project worksheet "Help", and can send their questions, requests for help to him/her.

"ShowUp" notation is usually applied on workspace or subunit consultants, who advice the entrepreneurs within their vocational capacity.
