Security and Privacy Policy

This Security and Privacy Policy sets out how iPlanner.NET ("Provider") handles security and privacy issues and protects your personal information.

Software Security

Security is an intrinsic part of our software service. We take all reasonable precautions to keep your information undisclosed, safe and secure. Access to iPlanner software is protected via a unique username and password. Each project or business plan has its own secure partition, so there is no chance that another iPlanner account customer will be able to see any of your project data. By managing users and their roles, You decide who in your team can view and change the project data.

We do not store user passwords in plain text in our database. Instead we store their one-way encrypted values combined with a so called salt (a random string that is concatenated with passwords before being operated on by the hash function). When a user logs in, the password submitted gets encrypted and compared with the value stored in the database. Microsoft ASP.NET Forms Authentication technology is used for secure user authentication. The authentication tickets are always encrypted and signed using hashing algorithm.

Our uptime is over 99%. Our servers are located in secure data centers at Intermedia.NET (US). All Provider's and Intermedia employees work under a non-disclosure agreement and only authorized personnel has physical access to production servers. The data center provides 24/7 on-site security with 24/7 video surveillance, 24/7 environmental monitoring and a diesel generator power backup system in case of a power failure. The servers are protected with a fire suppression system.

The servers at Intermedia are set up according to the latest Microsoft security guidelines using industry-accepted practices. This alone can tremendously reduce the risk of unauthorized access to data on the server. The data center is audited on regular basis, and all of the latest security fixes are installed right after they are issued.
